Chapter Nine
He got a limo again, wearing an all-black three piece suit with a black silk tie that drove me wild, especially with his careless curls framing his face and kissing the tips of his collar. He looked dark and dangerous, his green eyes piercing, still that ocean paradise color that swept you off your feet with thoughts of âIs he really looking at me with those gorgeous eyes?â
I was already a little tired, as Quinn had been extremely enthusiastic last night, nearly banging me to pieces three times. He said he was making up for lost time since I had stayed at my own place the night before, spending some quality time with Ulalume and catching up on my sleep.
I hadnât seen Quinn all day, which was starting to feel foreign to me; I either saw him in the morning, at lunch, or for dinner and to his place. We spent little time apart except at work. So of course, I had a ridiculous smile on my face when I saw him, sliding in beside him in the limo.
I was a little cold â all I had was a red faux fur wrap Quinn had sent over to me, the slit in the skirt of my dress leaving my skin exposed, though thankfully I didnât have far to go to get into the warmth of the car.
I adjusted my legs so my ankles were crossed, my legs together, fixing the skirt as he stared at me. I brushed a little curl out of my face, the rest of my hair swept back into an up do, the curls framing my face. My eyes widened a bit.
âWhat?â
He shook his head, looking away. âNothing.â
âAre you sure?â I asked. I pulled out my silver compact from my little red clutch, which had gold studs all over it. I looked over my red lipstick. âDo I look all right?â
He watched me again. âPerfect.â
I smiled a little as I glanced out of the corner of my eye. âPerfection is unattainable.â
âNot tonight,â he said. âI hope youâre ready when we get to my place. I think I may top last night.â
I giggled a little. âOh no. I already canât walk right, I probably look like a monkey in these heels.â
âIâm sure youâll manage,â he said with a little smirk. âWe get to sleep in tomorrow.â
âI would suggest breakfast in bed, but I still have yet to see you eat something,â I said, putting my compact away.
âOh, youâve seen me eat,â he said, mischief in his eyes.
I looked to him, unimpressed, but still amused. âI meant food.â
âI dislike having meals in front of people,â he said, sighing as he looked through the window, the snow falling and wet, sticking to the window like rain.
âSo, when do you eat?â I asked, pursing my lips, feeling the matte lipstick on them. âI mean, I know you donât eat breakfast, and you donât eat at lunch, and you donât eat when we have dinner.â
âI eat in my office,â he said with a shrug.
