Nayla was nervous. Like bite her nails, change her outfit half a dozen times, feel nauseous kind of nervous. What was she thinking by agreeing to go to Sunday family dinner with Mateo? They’d had dinner once and now he was going to introduce her to his family? Did that mean he was serious about her or maybe he wanted to be exclusive and this was his foot in the door to get her clued in? Either way, she was seriously doubting her sanity.

It’s not that she didn’t want to meet his family, it was just that she knew how close they all were. What if they didn’t like her? Would he tell them they’d only been ‘out’ once? Surely even they would think it strange he was bringing a woman home so soon? Standing she walked to her closet for one last look. The sound of her phone ringing on her dresser made her jump. Recognizing the old Donna Summer tune "Hot Stuff”, she smiled and grabbed up her phone.

“Hey there, hot stuff.”

“Hot stuff, huh? I’ll take that compliment any day, chica.”

Nayla didn’t think there would ever be a time when his voice didn’t send naughty thoughts through her brain. And of course when the dirty hits her mind, her body electrifies. It’s like a never ending porn movie plays out in her head with the main characters being herself and Mateo. Oh the filthy, filthy things she could do to his body.

“Are you on your way or do you want me to meet you there?” she asked.

A part of her wanted to meet him there. That way if things got too intense, she could leave and just come home. But she had a sneaking suspicion that Mateo wouldn’t go for it. He’d insist on picking her up.

“I’m almost to your house, babe. You almost ready?”

“I’ll be ready when you get here. Now, are you sure I can’t even bring a bottle of wine?”

“No wine, chica. If you don’t want the Mexican beer my dad always has on hand, I’m sure Mamá will have something you like. She’s actually veering from the norm to branch out. She decided on a pot roast with all the fixins. I’ve got to tell you that between my mother and my grandmother, the family has never been culinarily denied.”

“You realize that is not a word, right? Although I do get the intent behind it.”

“Good, now hang up and get that sexy body of yours dressed. I’ll be there shortly.”

Sighing in resignation, she set her phone back down. It was a warm day, but she had already ruled out shorts, instead settling for capris. Pairing a blouse that complemented the color of her eyes, she walked into the bathroom and nodded her approval at how she looked. She chose to leave her hair down, remembering how much Mateo had enjoyed playing with it the night they were together.

Just the mere thought of the night in question warmed her entire body and for a moment she blanked out, but not for long.
