Who and what are the others?

Goons, goblins, demons, and scrubbers are the focuses of Trollandia. But I’d be remiss not to examine the others that both willingly and unwillingly exist within Shitsville. Civilians, hydes, virtuosos, and clowns have their places within Trollandia’s jungle.

Civilians

There is a strong chance that you are a civilian. Yes, you, the person reading this coffee table garnish of a book! A civilian is a person that unknowingly enters Trollandia with no intention to troll or be trolled. Civilians want to read depressing headlines, look over Facebook posts, send messages, watch TV, and listen to podcasts. You know…. normal peoples’ shit.

Once engaged by trolls, civilians can either remain pure as Mormon missionaries, or, they can become corrupted.

A civilian survivor is that classy person that you know that avoids trolls’ traps. Examples are when your grandparent or religious friend choose to ignore being called a “dick hole” by a basic goon for commenting about how much good that the Pope is doing for the Catholic Church. You may have sidestepped a goon or three during your time in Trollandia, and I applaud you for doing so, instead of tumbling down the rabbit hole into blunderland.

Hydes

Hydes are the result of what happens when a civilian is trolled to the point that he or she turns into a troll on a temporary basis. After a trollpisode, a hyde will either revert back as functional adult, or permanently become a troll. I chose the title “hyde” out of the namesake for the monster that Dr. Jekyl would become after performing his wicked experiments. And who would Henry Hyde be without Dr. Jekyl? He’d be just another monster with nothing redeeming about himself.

An example of one becoming a hyde is that time when your buddy accidentally read those comments about a celebrity being called a “piece of shit” for a belief that he or she had, so then your friend wasted hours cyber screaming back and forth with strangers in the comments section about that. While being a hyde; he or she may even have sunk low enough to use the phrase “u mad, bro?”
