Chapter Eighteen

Liam

She looks stunning. And apparently every guy here thinks so too. As she walks around with Mack and her friends, their eyes follow and it takes everything in me not to pull her to me and claim her as mine. The only thing keeping me from doing that is she doesn’t notice and every few minutes she looks at me and smiles.

Something has changed between us these last few weeks and it’s something I’ve waited for since she came back into my life. Having her in my arms has always brought peace to me but lately it’s also brought me warmth. Every time I have her in my arms, she holds onto me tighter and longer. I want her to be mine again but I want her to want it too. I can feel her walls breaking but she still hasn’t fully let herself open up to me.

Mack and Liz walk back over to us with empty glasses and based on the flushness of Liz’s cheeks, I’d say a little buzzed too. Mack walks over to Drew and sits next to him and Liz comes up behind me placing her hands on my shoulders. I look up at her and she has the biggest smile on her face. “Mack and I want to dance. Let’s go somewhere else.”

Mack is already pulling Drew up with her and Caleb has his arm around Sarah, one of their friends, already heading to the parking lot. Liz leans down next to my ear while rubbing her hands down my chest. “Are you coming?”

“Wouldn’t miss it.” I stand up and she runs her hand down my arm all the way to my hand, interlocking our fingers. Everyone is waiting in the Uber by the time Liz and I get to the parking lot. We quickly get into the suburban and close the door behind us. The ride is short to Isaac Hunters but Liz never let’s go of my hand. A part of me wants to pull her closer so I can feel her body up against mine. But before I even get a chance to do it, we arrive to the bar and Liz opens the door pulling me out.

Looking behind me, I see Mack pulling Drew out and Sarah pulling Caleb. Wow, they really want to dance. Liz lets go of my hand, making me turn back to her. But instead of finding her looking at me, I see her walking to the dance floor already swaying her hips. Mack and Sarah join her on the dance floor and I can feel Caleb and Drew standing on either side of me. “They’re feeling good tonight.”

Caleb grabs my shoulder. “Yes, they are. And who says we can’t join them.” He walks over to the girls and wraps his arms around Sarah and starts dancing with her. I nudge Drew’s elbow and give him a look that says ‘should we?’ Drew looks back to Mack and I can tell he wants to. I’ve known
