Chapter Fifteen
âIâm starving, Leo.â Fidencia whispered, walking down the jet-way arm in arm as they deplaned in San Francisco.
âI know, ma chérie, but you must be patient,â Léonide cooed into her ear.
âBut Leo, Iâve had nothing since the layover in London,â she whined. âThere wasnât enough time in New York.â
âAs soon as we reach the hotel, we shall grab a snack.â He patted the dark-haired beautyâs hand on his arm.
âYou promise?â She pouted like a petulant child, her bottom crimson-painted lip protruding.
âYes, love, I promise.â Léonide smiled.
The long wait, coupled with the long ride to the hotel, had Fidencia practically chomping at the bit. At one-point Léonide was afraid she might attack one of their fellow passengers in the hotel shuttle before they arrived at their final destination.
âI must use the ladiesâ room,â she announced as Léonide was registering for their suite.
Léonide glared a warning at her. âDo not be long, dear,â he cautioned.
She returned just in time to join him and the porter for the ride up in the elevator. Léonide could smell the blood on her.
âBetter?â he asked.
âOh much, thank you.â She pulled out a compact and adjusted her very red lipstick. âThere were two very nice women in the ladies' room who were most accommodating.â She smiled sweetly.
Léonide raised an eyebrow.
âI might meet them for lunch while we are here one day,â she said.
Ah, so theyâre still alive, then, he thought, relieved.
âMaking friends already, I see.â He chuckled before going back to check the bell hopâs tight ass in the form-fitting uniform pants.
âWhat about you, darling?â Fidencia inquired. âAre you going to grab that snack?â Her head tilted almost imperceptibly toward the young, handsome man facing away from them.
The porter opened the door to their suite, rolled the luggage cart into the room, and unloaded it.
âIs there anything else I may do for you?â The young manâs uniform fit him well, showing off his great physique.
âAs a matter of factâ¦â Léonide handed the man a twenty-dollar bill, then grabbed his hand and pulled him closer. He looked deeply into the bell hopâs eyes, quieting any objections before he gently tilted the manâs head and pierced his carotid artery. Léonide sighed as he drank. The porterâs eyes half-closed and his jaw dropped open, a look of ecstasy on his face.
Léonide withdrew after licking the open wound closed with the point of his tongue. Smiling at the handsome blond man, he glanced at the employee name tag. âWhat time do you get off workâ¦.Steve?â
âFive this afternoon.â Steveâs smile revealed perfect, white teeth.
âPerhaps you would like to have a cocktail with me?â Léonide poured on the charm. âMaybe show me and my companion some of your fair city?â
âIt would be my pleasure, sir,â Steve replied, still smiling.
âLeo, please call me Leo. And this fair creature is my friend Fidencia.â
âPleased to meet you, Maâam.â
âThe pleasure is all mine.â Fidencia giggled, âOr it will beâ¦.â She let the words trail off as she turned and went into one of the lavishly furnished bedrooms.
