Mr. King nursed his drink as he watched the sun set out the window. Ever since Sylvia had been out to lunch with Slade, she’d been quiet. He’d offered her some time to herself after dinner, so she could go to her room and be alone with her thoughts.

He was sure the two of them had had sex. It bothered him, but he wouldn’t call her on it. It’s not like they had an exclusive sexual relationship. Although he was her Master and she shouldn’t have sex with anyone except under his command, he had allowed her to go and she might think that meant it was okay. Especially since he knew she’d had sex with him when she’d been with Grant.

He liked that it might cheer her up. She missed Grant and being with someone she liked might help take her mind off it.

The phone rang and Mr. King picked it up. “King here.”

“It’s Grant. I’m calling to see how Sylvia’s doing.”

Mr. King sat straighter in his chair. “Don’t worry. I’m taking good care of her.”

“Of course. But how is she doing?”

Mr. King frowned. He certainly wasn’t going to tell him she was mooning over him.

“If you want to know that, call and talk to her. Tomorrow at 2 pm. Call my office.”

Then he hung up.
