I heard thousands of people talk about the first snowfall and how magical it had happened to be. Most of my clients sometimes like to talk a little too much and decide to give me stories on their love lives when they have no relation to the cases. I hate it. They go off topic and waste my time but I have to sit through them and listen.

Magical. Out of a fairy-tale. Mesmerising. Absolutely beautiful.

That's how it's described.

I have never stopped to pay attention to it. Just saw it was snowing and went home.

Watching people gasp, mutter and squeal around me in the plaza, it makes me feel as if I am missing out on something.

The smile on Marcelo's face makes me question if I really am seriously missing out.

The small flakes fall on us slowly, the cold spell the winter has put on us is really treating to be powerful because everyone is smiling watching the snowflakes land on them.

I stand there watching Molly put out her hand as the snowflakes barely last a mere second before it dissolves yet the happiness on her face makes me wonder if that mere second is really that magical.

Curiously, I put my own hand out, and watch as one of the snowflakes falls on my hand. I manage to see the small designs on it right before it's gone.

Melted.

I sigh and realize I just don't feel it.

I don't feel like them. Like all the other people.

When I face Marcelo who is has his phone out and decided he wants to take a picture of me, he is smiling. His white teeth showing and that small crinkle around his eyes and the dimples show. His glasses seems to fog up with the cold so he takes them off before stuffing them in his jacket pocket.

Now, he looks even more handsome.

Like he did when he was sleeping next to me and I woke up to find him with his body curled against mine.

My eyes watch as he raises his eyebrows at me then quickly drops them. It feels as if he is trying to hide something from me but I can't pinpoint what it is. There is something off and I weirdly want to get rid of what is bothering him.

His smile is contagious and that makes my eyes drop slowly, they don't feel heavy being lifted and I let them relax. I let my face relax knowing that sharing that small bit of information hopefully was enough to not make Marcelo walk away from me.

My words earlier although true, have impacted him in a negative way.

For the first time in my life, I wanted to take them back, I wanted to lie and say something but I didn't know what to say.

So I tried, with my past, a past everyone is always dying to know, and it seemed to work.

He understands and I am counting on him to keep it private.

Like before, I trust Marcelo but his seductive smiles are making me do things for the first time.
