Motion and wind and gravity
The map can blow you the same or differently in a direction. It can blow you the same or differently per pixel/square, also possible through a function based on factors. If there is a door or a tunnel the wind can move appropriately, and in case of non-consecutively numbered squares it can go in order. The wind can be replaced by laws of attraction and repulsion. Simple ones are inverse square laws, medium ones are simple formulas and complicated ones are complex formulas. There can be a vector map of how strong the wind is per square, with the squares being in direct order or skipping around in order. The board squares can affect wind.
Wind or simply the map can control which directions you can go. You might move onto a square and find yourself in a sequence of forced movement or have a choice where you can go. You might skip over squares. Where you came from can affect where you can go. Wind can change by the enumeration of squares or gradually by traveling.
There can be small places where the wind changes⦠there could be a tunnel where the wind/gravity changes⦠it might be uniform speed and it might accelerate.
Wind can change according to numbering of squares or a function of the two dimensions. It could be a vector map. It could change by angle and x-or-y variables.
Gravity works just like wind except it plays on acceleration and not velocity and it might not change so much.
Motion can change the wind/gravity and vice versa.
You can try to go from A to B with wind and gravity changing.
