I am spinning like I am caught in the Milky Way. My throat is constricting as I moan Alex’s name boisterously. The pinnacle I reach has me whirling within the galaxies far away from my reality. I don’t want this to end. Ever!

It’s too soon, but a smooth as caramel voice pries me back to Earth.

“Isla, open your eyes for me,” he whispers. “Show me those gorgeous eyes,” he commands. Blinking a few times, reality returns and I am face-to-face with a God who should only attract models and heirs to thrones, not some inconsequential girl who isn’t in control of her life, who is living a lie. But I can’t think about that now. All I want to think about is this sexy man high above me, assailing me, making me cry out his name.

Mighty hands frame my face as he lowers those heavenly lips onto mine, encasing them, giving himself completely to me in that minute. Alex is being true and real with me. This is certainly not a ‘quick take it and leave me night’. This is something passionate, a mind-blowing reality check for me and, I trust, for Alex as well. Nestling my body closer to his, I lay my head on his sculptured shoulder, fitting correctly together once again. When his arm wraps around me, he pulls me against him—chest to chest and hugs me purposefully.

“Alex,” I breathe, “tonight’s been incredible. The best night of my life. I am not ashamed to admit my body’s never felt more sensual and beautiful. Thank you for showing me your place.” I look up to see him still watching me. “Is there something on my face? Why are you looking at me like that?” No one has ever looked at me like this before. Jules’ never probe into my soul as Alex’s eyes have been doing since the time I met him in The Basement. It’s like he can read what is going on in my mind. It would unnerve me if I didn’t believe he was trying to understand me and my peculiar life. I’m unsure how much I want him to learn, though.

“I’m admiring your lips, your eyes, and your stunning face. Sweetness, you are the most beautiful and unique person. I thank the higher powers for bringing us together four nights ago,” Alex says lovingly. The truth in his eyes is evident and I am helpless at what to say or do. Minimal exhaling and inhaling is all I am capable of doing at this time, so I let my hands wander over his chest and buff abs as I worship his body, just as he had done to mine minutes before.

Can I really pursue this relationship? Is it finally my time to live? Questions I can’t answer swirl through my mind at a hundred miles an hour. Shifting so I am resting on my elbow looking into Alex’s clear blue eyes, I have no doubt that this relationship could break me and perhaps Alex, too.
