It’s a day before the party.

Xander called to find out if I will attend his event.

He asked, "so, will you attend my party? "

I told him I hadn't decided about it yet. He seemed a little frustrated by my answers.

I quickly responded, "a friend. "

She raised an eyebrow and said, "let me guess it's someone from class?"

I said to her, "wrong answer mom, it's not just someone from class. It's my friend Xander Cameron. "

I swallowed and said, “Mom, he’s just my classmate, nothing more."

My mom suddenly stopped talking.
