Chapter Eleven

LESLIE WOKE feeling happier than he’d been in a long time. His body ached in a good way and in all the right places, and he felt closer than ever to Gavin, and not only because they’d had sex. There had been a tenderness in their encounter, something that told Leslie they were well on their way to making things between them serious.

Of course, he’d known that was what they both wanted, but it had been only words until now. They’d half joked about marriage, but now Leslie felt they might be a baby step closer to that goal. Not that that was what he had in mind exactly, but yeah, he could see a future where he lived in this very house with Gavin and Ben and woke up in Gavin’s bed every day.

“You look like the cat that ate the canary.”

Leslie smiled lazily and tilted his head a bit higher so he could look at Gavin. They’d gone to sleep spooning, but now Gavin was flat on his back and Leslie was nestled against him, his head on Gavin’s chest. Gavin made for a slightly too hard and moving pillow, but Leslie wouldn’t have exchanged him for anything in the world.

“Well, I did eat the cream yesterday….”

Gavin rolled them, making Leslie yelp. “Naughty, Leslie.”

Leslie snorted. “I don’t think so. The naughtiest thing I’ve ever done was stealing a lollipop from the grocery store, and I got caught right away.”

“I can’t imagine your father took it well.”

“Yeah, no. Not at all.”

“So what do you want to do with our morning?”

“Mmm, what could we do? So many possibilities….”

“Pick one. Come on.”

Leslie spent a few moments pretending to think. “I know! We could clean your kitchen.”

Gavin growled and tickled Leslie’s sides. Leslie squeaked and tried to move away, but his legs were tangled in the sheets and with Gavin’s legs.

Gavin pinned him to the bed. He somehow managed to grab both of Leslie’s wrists and held them over his head with one hand while sliding the other one along his naked side then tickling his navel.

Leslie laughed and squirmed, without results. “Stop it! I need to go the bathroom!”

Gavin let him go, and Leslie jumped from the bed. He ran to the bathroom buck naked, Gavin whistling after him while they both laughed.

Leslie managed to calm down enough to wash his hands and his face. He wished he’d remembered to take his duffel bag with him the night before since his toothbrush was in it, but he had to use his finger with a dab of toothpaste instead. At least he didn’t have morning breath anymore, even if his teeth still felt gritty.

He peeked outside the door to check what Gavin was up to and smiled when Gavin beckoned him closer with one finger. He was on his back again, sunlight changing his skin to a dark gold, one hand behind his head, the sheet low on his hips and tented enough to make Leslie eager to get back in the bed.
