SABRINA RODE BACK TO the house in silence. Mitch had given her a lot to think about at the lake. He was the only man who had ever made her lose control and forget where she was and what she was supposed to be doing and it scared the hell out of her.

She pushed that disturbing thought away and looked back at those long-ago conversations with her sister. She remembered that she had felt there was something a little off about what Caitlin was telling her. At the time, she’d blamed the feeling on her preoccupation with her guilt. Now she wondered if there was more to it as Mitch had indicated.

She had to admit that those final words he’d taunted her with were the truth. She wanted him and he’d admitted wanting her. The idea of giving in to their attraction and letting it burn itself out was certainly appealing, but she didn’t know how long she could protect her heart.
