Chapter Six

Kylie lay in Macon’s bed alone. Was she still buzzing a little from last night’s shots or flying high because of the marvelous sex? Definitely the sex. Her body had come to life with the mere look in his eyes and the touch of his wonderful hands and oh, that tongue. She buried her head in his pillow and screamed with delight. Never had she had that kind of sex with Brett—nor just sex so many times.

They started in bed, moved to the chair. Then on the marble floor and ended up pressed against the glass windows. She glanced at the hand and body smudge prints. Oh boy. I hope the glass is tinted. Heat rushed up her neck and landed on her cheeks. Then there was her favorite spot. The Jacuzzi. He’d ordered her to soak her sore body, then he climbed in behind her, and the things he did to her with the hand-held high pressured water sprayer… Lord, she needed to get one of those at home. Heat scorched her face again.

And never in a million years had she known what a man could do with his tongue. Her nipples rose just thinking about it.

Jan, you can keep plain-vanilla Brett. I’ll keep double-hot-fudge with whipped cream and cherries on top Macon. “You can’t keep Macon,” she whispered, and the words left a hollow spot in her chest.

She rolled onto her side, barely paying any mind to the shower running in the next room, due to the beautiful sunrise she’d witnessed through the floor-to-ceiling windows. She cast a quick glance at the alarm clock on the nightstand. After six in the morning.

Oh boy. Sara and Ash were probably worried. A pang of guilt filled her. She grabbed the phone, dialed her friend’s room, and cringed when voicemail answered. “I’m about to leave Macon’s room. I’ll see you party animals later.”

She hung up, feeling a little better leaving a responsible message so her friends would know she was still alive. Where were they? Why weren’t they answering their cell phones? Hopefully they weren’t in the casino and clubs looking for her. She’d never hear the end of it.

She smiled at how surprised she was that last night had been so much fun. All except for Brett. Asshole had nerve showing up last night, trying to ruin her fun. Why had he come anyway? Did he honestly think she would still want him after what he had done? Thankfully, Macon had come to her rescue and saved the night—and her. She smiled. It was nice being rescued for a change.
