CHAPTER 18

Emily

WOW! That was the most amazing experience of my life and it was with Miguel of all people. Twisting around in his hold has him letting go a bit, rolling over I look into his deep blue eyes, he has that devil may care grin on his face and it makes him look so happy and content. Out of everything we have discussed these past few weeks the look on his face answers all my concerns about his feelings, he really is in love with me. For the first time in my life, I’m scared of what that could mean for us in the future. I wasn’t looking for love again, just a little fun, and I was certain Miguel was just sugar coating everything to make it easier to fall into bed together. Now I need to make a choice to move on and forget this ever happened or try for happiness one more time. Curling into his side laying my head over on his chest.

“So, Mr. Parks what do you suggest we do now?”

“As much as I hate to say it I’ve got to get ready to go home. The sooner I go the sooner I’ll be able to get back. You’re not going try to run away on me, are you?”

“No, I’ll be waiting for you to get back,” I reply to his question as I prop my chin on his chest. Bashfully looking up at him I grin, “Seems one of us is always waiting for the other. Hopefully, it won’t always be that way for us.” Lightly kissing his chest, I roll over as he slips from the bed, watching him move around the room as he gets redressed is fascinating to watch. Miguel has always moved with confidence and it looks like he just earned more points in the confidence category. Lost inside my own thoughts I jump when he swats my ass.

“Darlin’ you need to get up and put clothes on or I’ll be flying out in the dark.”

Oh, the ass knows that’s one of my worst fears is night flying, tossing the sheets to the side I jump to the floor. Moving past him heading for the bedroom door my feet freeze mid-step.

“Where the hell are you going with no clothes on?”

“Uh, you just told me to get dressed and my clothing is on the other side of the house or did you forget?” Catching a t-shirt that he tosses over at me, “Miguel, you do realize I’ll be here alone in a few hours and I can run around naked all I want right? For someone who has a black-book the size of a dictionary, you have a real issue with nudity.”

“Darlin’ it’s not that I have an issue with nudity I just don’t want anyone else to see you naked. There has already been one person more than I ever wanted to see you naked, I laid claim to you the first night I saw you and sharing was never on my mind.
