He’s a huge freakin’ wolf! Clearly, I knew this already, but right now, standing here with him makes it so much more real. Seth’s brown eyes watch me as his wolf nose sniffs the air between us. His head tilts from side to side, making him look like a curious pup, and I can’t help but smile.

“Wow,” I say breathlessly. I reach my hand out toward him and his eyes close when my fingers dive into the thick black hair along his head. “You’re incredible, Seth.”

He makes a snorting sound and then presses his snout into the center of my chest. I giggle, and continue petting him. “Woah, woah. Just because you’re supposedly a wild animal, doesn’t mean you’re allowed to get frisky with me. I see into your eyes and I know the human side of you is plenty in control.”

I swear he smiles, if that’s possible. I slide my fingers along Seth’s silky neck and he gives a big shake. His head nuzzles into my side, and he’s so warm that I sigh. “If only I could feel what it’s like to have that much power.”

Every inch of the massive wolf is layered in muscle and thick fur. He’s so powerful. Seth lowers his head to the ground as if he’s bowing, and he nudges me with one giant shoulder. “What?” I ask, confused.

He tries to press himself underneath me, nearly taking my feet out from under me. No way does he want me to get onto his back right now. “Do you want me to ride you like a horse, Seth?”

His wolf head nods and he nudges me again. My heart is racing as I imagine what it would be like to ride a werewolf. I guess I’m about to find out. I grip the hairs on his neck, making sure not to pull too tightly, and I throw one of my legs over his back.

Without hesitation, Seth rises with me half on top of him and shifts me to the side so that I am fully resting on the center of his back. “Holy cow, this is so crazy. I don’t want to pull your hair.”

His head shakes, and he starts walking through the trees after the other wolves. I hold on for dear life as he picks up the pace. I can feel every one of his muscles beneath me as he runs. The strength from within him is incredible, and I want to be even closer to him if that’s possible.

Please do not tell me that I am sexually attracted to a wolf.

I shake that thought away and try to focus on the trees flying past us. Seth is running nearly as fast as James did when he first carried me to his home. I don’t feel sick or dizzy this time, though. I feel grounded with Seth’s warm wolf body against me. My heart is beating out of control, and I feel free for the first time in my life. I can’t believe I considered not doing this tonight.
