Evening 4.00 pm

We spent hours at Marz-o-rin and then walked on the M.G Road.

She was back to the way she used to be with me. The laughter was back. Everything seemed to be going on well.

She said “Hey S2, now I will go home. I have to pack my bag. I am going to Mumbai by the 6.45 Indrayani Express in the evening. Are you planning to stay here or go back tonight? If planning to go, then we will go together.”

I was flabbergasted to hear that plan. I hadn’t booked my ticket yet.

I said, “What the hell are you talking about. You are leaving for Mumbai, then what is the point in my staying here, of course I am coming with you!!”

We decided to meet at the station entry by 6.15pm and then she left for home. It feels really nice to make someone happy, especially to someone who is very special to you.

I came back to the Pune station, relaxed. Still lost in her thought, I was walking on the platform with the earphones plugged playing some romantic songs. My stomach was full and still there were 2 hours left for the train to arrive. I needed to do something to pass the time. I called up Vicky.

“Vicky. How’s study going on? Done with studies?”

Vicky replied, “Haha. That’s a funny question. You know me. My preparation is always incomplete. Only God can save me now. By the way, you are studying, right?”

I didn’t want to tell Vicky that I was in Pune but the announcer at the station had already started. While I was answering Vicky’s question, there was an announcement “Intercity express is arriving at platform number 4.” Vicky heard that announcement on the phone.

Vicky, “Where are you? Are you on a railway platform?”

It was never easy to lie to Vicky, so I told him the truth … half-truth.

- “Yes. I am at CST station. I came here to see off my relatives.”

Vicky’s brain works like Sherlock Holmes.

Vicky, “It’s not possible. I heard the announcement of Intercity express. It leaves Mumbai in the morning, not in the evening. Sashank … are you in Pune? Don’t lie to me… saale.”

I thought there was no point in lying to him further. So, I gave in. I told him about Preity’s break up and how I had to come to Pune to console her.

Vicky, “See Sashank. I might sound rude. Priety had been close to many boys of our college in the past. She has played mind games with many people in the past. You know Raksheet… He is not the one who will propose just any girl he meets. He will propose only when a girl will take a step forward to get close to him. He met me some days back. He told me how he used to meet Priety outside college campus, go for movies, restaurants, every evening and when he proposed her, she rejected even his friendship.

Now, Raksheet is so depressed. Look, I am not saying that Priety is a bad girl.
