“Are you sure this isn’t a problem, Rocky? I know it’s last minute and all but I’m afraid I won’t make it in time to pick up Brianna. I might even get there at the same time you do or a few minutes later. I already called the principal and she knows you’ll be coming. You don’t even have to put the car seat in the truck or anything.”

“Hailey, it’s fine. You know we’re here for you in anything you need.”

“I know that. I appreciate it and it helps so much that the three of you are part of Brianna’s life and mine.”

He felt uneasy and it was because he missed his brother Keith and if he had only noticed the addiction sooner perhaps he or his brothers could have saved Keith’s life. Keith was missing out on his baby girl’s life.

“I’ll be there, no worries.”

“Thanks so much.”

Rocky ended the call and looked at the clock. He had a half an hour before it was time to leave. He just needed to finish up a few more things in the house and then he would head out.
