Chapter Twelve
A few days later, Kurt said, âWe can stop by the stables after weâve locked the geese up for the night.â
Aiden couldnât stop himself from smiling. âReally?â Apparently his campaign to convince Kurtâwith some more enthusiastic blowjobs and handjobsâhad paid off.
âYeah. You talked so nicely of the horses, Iâm a bit curious to see them myself. And Rowan said it was okay.â
Aiden worked even more efficiently to get the geese settled for the night, and he didnât care that his hair was disheveled or his clothes covered in dirt when he finished. âCome on, letâs go!â
âWow. Wish youâd show this kind of enthusiasm in bed.â
âI could if I wanted to. But I donât!â Aiden skipped ahead, then stopped when he realized he didnât know where they were going. âIs it in the courtyard? Or somewhere nearby?â
âJust outside the castle walls,â Kurt said. âKeep your mouth shut while weâre going through the courtyard. Most people there wonât be as kind to you as I am.â
If this was kindness, Aiden didnât even want to know what they considered cruel. But he stayed close to Kurt, avoiding meeting anybodyâs eyes. He spotted Lisette from that first day, working on tending the flowers that climbed up the castle walls.
âHi, Lisette!â Kurt called out, waving to her. âYou almost done for the day?â
Lisette dropped her watering can, apparently not caring that water spilled everywhere, and ran up to Kurt. âGood afternoon! Itâs been a while since Iâve seen you. Did you already break your new toy?â
âNo, no, of course not.â Kurt wrapped an arm around Aidenâs shoulders and drew him close. âHere he is, all in one piece.â
Lisette seemed surprised to see Aiden. She leaned in close, far closer than Aiden was comfortable with, her nose almost touching his. When she pulled back, she seemed confused. âAre you sure this is the same one?â
âYeah, this is him. He cleaned up really nicely.â Kurt smiled and shook Aiden, his grip never loosening enough for Aiden to slip away.
Lisette seemed less amused. âI didnât realize he was so handsome. Are you sure this is the one I brought you?â
âYeah! Heâs still wearing the collar, isnât he?â Kurt pointed to the collar.
âWell, you could have taken it from the old one and put it on a new human.â
Enough was enough. âIâm him! Iâm Aiden!â Aiden said with exasperation. âMy face isnât any different!â
âMmm⦠No, it is.â Lisette said, nodding firmly. âIt has a glow that wasnât there before. If anybody finds outâ¦â
âFinds out what?â Aiden looked between the two faeries. âI didnât do anything! Tell her, Kurt. Iâve been herding geese, just like you wanted me to.â
âYeah. Heâs herding geese, and doing a halfway decent job of it.â Kurt finally let go of Aiden and crossed his hands over himself. âWhy? You donât get to take him back now. Heâs mine.â
âIs he?â Lisette bounced on the back of her heels. âI donât know. He doesnât feel yours. I think I should⦠No, never mind. Iâll talk to you later.
