Chapter 24: The Castle of Light

After Patches' departure, Aria and Jaxon continued on their journey. The sun had vanished behind the thick treetops, and the forest had become dark and foreboding.

As they walked, they could hear the sound of bells in the distance. It was a soothing sound, which made Aria feel better and more relaxed.

"Could those bells be from the Castle of Light?" Jaxon asked Aria, his face hopeful.

"I don't know," she replied. "But I know one thing for sure: we're about to find out.

Suddenly, Aria stopped in her tracks, staring ahead in shock. In the distance, they could see a bright light, shining like a beacon in the midst of the forest.

"What the heck is that?" Jaxon asked, dazed by the intensity of the light.

Aria shook her head in amazement. She had never seen anything like it before.

"It's the Castle of Light," she whispered in awe.

"How could that be?" Jaxon asked.

"Listen to me," Aria began, her eyes brimming with tears. "There is a legend about a Castle of Light, hidden in the farthest depths of the Forest.

"All those who walk through the lowlands of the Forest of Shadows, who journey down the Eternal trail, will find a place of light and joy and peace.

"Those who make it to the Castle of Light, who don't give into the despair and sadness, will find the answers to all their questions and heal their broken souls.

Aria's voice filled with sadness, but she refused to break down in tears.

"We've finally reached the end of the trail, the place of light and peace," she said.

"I can feel it in my heart. This place will give us the answers we've been seeking.

Jaxon took Aria's hand, and the two of them continued their journey with renewed confidence. Together, they approached the Castle of Light.

Aria and Jaxon approached the Castle of Light, and they could already sense its welcoming warmth and joy. As they approached the entrance, they were greeted by a group of men clad in armor that gleamed with a golden light.

The leader of the group stepped forward and bowed to Aria, giving her a large wooden invitation with elaborate gold lettering. Aria could read it from a distance, her mind filling

with wonder:

Aria and Jaxon,

We have awaited your arrival for many years. Please, enter our castle.Inside the walls of the Castle of Light, time has stood still.

For hour after hour, Aria and Jaxon continued through the forest, their progress slow and arduous. They had just about given up hope of reaching the tower before nightfall. Aria had allowed her fatigue to show, falling asleep at a moment's notice and not waking for hours at a time. Jaxon, on the other hand, had to struggle to keep up his strength and keep Aria moving forward.

The day turned into night, and the darkness only pressed in on them more as they trekked forward. Aria was so tired, she could barely keep her eyes open. And just when she thought things couldn't get any worse, they heard a great commotion in the forest in front of them.
