The warmth registered at first, followed almost immediately by the scent of delicious male.

An equally hard body curled around her and pressed against her from her shoulders to the backs of her knees. “Yes, he did.” With a hand around her middle holding her close, Hoyt pressed his lips against her neck, making her shiver under Jake’s watchful gaze. “And he’s already had his coffee and showered, and after lying next to you all night, has been waiting impatiently for you to wake up.”

The rush of anticipation and awareness hit her hard. Her stomach muscles tightened under the hand Hoyt slid lower, a rush of moisture escaping to dampen her panties just as Hoyt slid his fingers into them. With a groan, she buried her face against Jake’s chest, hiding a smile. “Oh, hell, another morning person.”

Hoyt’s hand slid over her mound, his breath warm on her shoulder. “You went to sleep so early last night that I thought you’d be up before now.”

Jake stiffened and shifted beside her, rolling her to her back. Lifting her face to his, he studied her eyes, his gaze narrowed and sharp. “She hasn’t been sleeping well. It’s my fault. She’s been lying awake at night, worried about the distance between us. I didn’t know what to say to ease her mind, since I didn’t know if you were really going to come here or not, and I didn’t want to upset her more, so I said nothing.
