Fred came this morning. When I tried to introduce him. She at once said: “But I know him, I have seen him before”. He broke out into tears. He says I look much younger than when he saw me last November.

1st June, 1947

Last night translated a private2 for Fred. Got so much out of it, breathtaking. There are no words in any language to express a tiny fragment of the sublimeness that She is. Today Fred asked about avatars. She said: “There is no coming and no going. All are Atma. There is no question of an Avatar descending into the world. He is always there, but takes shape for the ‘bhakta’.”

I hardly sit for dhyan these days. There is no time. I can’t tear myself away from Her, and then there is housework and I have to rest. But looking at Her is more than dhyan.
