Chapter 24

Kennedy

I’m a little nervous to go in the pool with everyone else. Blake grabbed the tiniest bikini I own. It’s the same one I was wearing when we met. The bikini I only wear when I'm sunbathing.

I know all of Blake’s friends live here and the pool is for everyone to share. What if they’re all out there? What will everyone else think? Most of them are mothers and might not appreciate me dressed like this in front of their kids.

What will the guys think? Will they be staring at me? Making the girls hate me even more.

There’s no future for Blake and me if his friends hate me.

Stepping out the back door, I make my way over to the pool area. I’m biting into my bottom lip, still worrying about the amount of skin I have on display. There’s no way for me to sit on the side lines and not swim with everyone else. I need to show not only Wyatt, but also Blake, that I'm serious about being in their lives.

“Damn, look at you, baby,” Blake shouts, letting out a loud whistle.

All conversation stops and every eye turns my way. All of the guys and their families are gathered around the pool. I want to run in the opposite direction and never show my face here ever again.

“Blake,” I groan, covering my face with my hands.

“Don’t be shy. You rock that low rumble!”

“I swear, I'm gonna drown you,” I mutter loud enough for him to hear. He throws his head back and laughs.

Blake swims to the edge of the pool. He presses his palms against the cement and slowly lifts himself out of the water. His muscles bulge under his weight, but he makes it look effortless. Water trails down his abs, making me bite the inside of my cheek to keep myself from moaning. He’s like every woman’s fantasy.

“What can I say? I find you breathtaking,” he whispers, taking my face in his hands.

Before I can respond he presses one long kiss against my lips. He wraps his arm around my lower back and tugs me flush against him.

“Get a room!” Someone shouts from behind him. I can feel Blake smile against my mouth.

“Shut up, Lincoln! They’re adorable together!” A woman hisses.

“No one can be more adorbs than us, Livvy.”

“I think they’re more adorable than all of us,” another woman mutters. Her voice I recognize. It’s Sam. Damn, I love Sam.

“They all think we’re adorable together,” I whisper when Blake pulls back.

“We’re fucking perfect together.” He brushes a strand of hair behind my ear.

“Aren’t we moving too fast?”

“Nah, baby. We’re moving at the perfect speed for us.”

“I like that answer.”

“Good. Now, let’s get you in the pool!” He lifts me up in the air, holding me tight against his body. He takes off on a run towards the water.

“Blake! No!” I squeal, trying to wiggle out of his arms.

My struggle is useless. We fly into the air, splashing into the water in the next second. He doesn’t let go of me the entire time.
