You will not be adept in imagining the exacerbated conundrums visited upon me over the past few days, and all of them because of her. Emmaline James. The woman with the green scepter and the cropped hairstyle, owning a fell sort of energy. Why did she prick my interest that day in the library? Why did I come to her? As you must wholesomely know from my many letters to you, I have always considered my existence rather benign, without adventure and littered with much mundanity. I can no longer claim stake to such a disposition. My lust for literature and profanity has at last rewarded me with a most unfortunate turn of events.

I miss you something horrible. If only I could sit with you in front of the blazing fire, shawl draped over our shoulders as you read to me from our favorite Mary Astell book, with the boys attempting to provoke us from our comfortable stoop with their devious pranks.

I am coming for you, Lily. This, you must know. I will not forsake you when you need me the most, nor will I let Ike devour your mind and your memories, or whatever dastardly operation he performs on his victims. I will find you. I am coming for you tonight. I have not the slightest awareness of how it shall be done, but I will secure a way for us to be reunited. Tomorrow, I shall hold you and weep and describe the crass, exhilarating nature of my time at Hearth-wood Grove.

I shall see you in the morrow, then, dear sister. In fact, it shall be I who delivers this letter into your wanting hands, not the postman.
