Batman Begins (2005): âRated PG-13 for intense action violence, disturbing images, and some thematic elements.â The phrase âdisturbing imagesâ is interesting in this context, since âdisturbingâ was probably used in more reviews of The Dark Knight than any PG-13 film in recent memory. In this film, it may refer to Batmanâs origin story, which includes his being a child when he witnesses his parents being shot and killed. âThematic elementsâ could mean anything, and could easily be applied to the two follow-up movies in this seriesâand maybe every movie that receives a rating. Also, this film has about the same level of profanity, but again, itâs not mentioned in the description.
