Chapter 6.

I open my eyes and look around. It takes me a moment to remember where I am. It all comes back to me in a rush. William rescuing me and telling me I’m his mate. Us making love. I look to the side of me and see William sleeping next to me. I must have passed out after my orgasm. My cheeks heat at the memory of how much I enjoyed his lovemaking. It was like nothing I ever imagined. I had heard it would hurt but no one prepared me for the pleasure. It felt so good, though it was the tenderness in which he took me that made it even better.

He is sleeping but I can’t seem to stop myself from running my fingers down his cheek. He startles and opens his unusual eyes.

“Hailey baby. You scared me.” He leans forward and kisses my lips. How did I scare him?

“What happened?” I ask and he runs his hands down my body.

“You had a seizure.” He says and stares at me in fascination. I take stock of my body and I am surprised that there is no pain. None. I haven’t been pain free in so long that I had grown used to it. I sit up and William moves back as I move my arms around. No pain. I stand up and walk around the room. I forget about not having clothes on in my excitement. I am completely pain free.

“Come.” William says as he takes my hand and leads me into the bathroom. He stands me before the mirror and what I see shocks me so much that I sway on my feet. His large hands grip my arms to hold me steady. I have a healthy glow to my skin. My cheeks are flushed with health. My hair is fuller and has a little more body to it. It’s almost like time was reversed and suddenly I am five years younger. I look like I did in high school before I started getting sick.

“My beautiful mate.” He says as he kisses my shoulder, sending goose bumps over my body.

“I should go to my doctor and have him run tests.” I tell him and he shakes his head.

“You cannot draw attention to us.” He says against the skin of my neck.

“Did you know that bonding with me would heal me?” I ask him as I continue to stare in the mirror. He shakes his head as he steps back.

“No, but I did hope it would.” He pulls his boxers off and turns on the shower. My eyes are drawn to his cock, which is full erect. I lick my lips and he groans. I can see a smear of my virgin blood on the tip. I feel my cheeks heat as I remember our lovemaking. It was the most beautiful experience of my life and this perfect man is the reason why.

“Come let us get cleaned up. I fear our alone time will be ending soon.” He leads me into the shower where he starts washing me.
