It had been a minute or two since the bots entered the hole and left the rest of the team behind with the stinkers. Myra knew the oxygen tank would not last forever. Not with three people using it. She looked at the convulsing grubs. Most of them were struggling. The smoke had already claimed some of their lives. Their burning parent had given death to them as their very last gift.

Suddenly, Myra remembered something. She took a long deep breath from the tank and raced towards the hole, gesturing Barry and Frank to follow her.

The trio climbed up.

Myra turned around and looked back one last time as the last one of the stinkers jerked its body. She brought her focus back to the sizzling big worm and concentrated on what she was about to do next.
