DONALD TRUMP WOULD DECLARE HIS presidential run in June 2015, descending the escalator at Trump Tower to give an inflammatory speech that blamed Mexico for sending its most problematic people to the United States: “They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists,” he said.27 Several networks cut ties with him as a result of the speech, including NBC, which owned half of the Miss Universe Organization. Trump bought NBC out, and sold the beauty pageant to William Morris Endeavor/IMG only three days later.

Emin Agalarov kept up his relationship with the Trumps, even giving a private performance for Trump at his National Golf Course in Doral, Florida, in March 2014. A year later, when the singer performed at Highline Ballroom, a concert venue in New York City, his publicist invited Trump’s son Don Jr. to attend. The two became chummy enough that just over a year later, when Emin needed to set up a meeting with the Trump campaign to provide dirt on Hillary Clinton, it would be to Don Jr. that he turned.

On June 3, 2016, on behalf of his client, Emin’s publicist Rob Goldstone emailed Don Jr. the following message:

Good morning

Emin just called and asked me to contact you with something very interesting.

The Crown prosecutor of Russia met with his father Aras this morning and in their meeting offered to provide the Trump campaign with some official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father.

This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump—helped along by Aras and Emin.

What do you think is the best way to handle this information and would you be able to speak to Emin about it directly?

I can also send this info to your father via Rhona, but it is ultra sensitive so wanted to send to you first.
