I wake up the next morning slowly, like always, stretching my arms above my head and burying my head under my pillow before lifting it an inch. I peek out at the sun coming in through my window and wonder if last night was all a dream. It seems like it was, but it’s too clear. It was real.

I sit up and grope wildly for my phone even though I know it’s too early for him to have texted me, but something pops up.

Want breakfast? I’ve got muffins if you’re interested.

I can’t believe he already texted me. Isn’t there some unwritten rule that guys are supposed to try and act cool after dates and not text girls for a few days? If there is, I’m glad Tristan broke it. I type back a quick message:

Muffins sound good

He replies almost instantaneously:

Disclaimer, I had a bite of yours. Be at your house in five.

I am grinning like an idiot.
