Iain kissed me. Wow. That kiss had taken my breath away and made me tingle from head to toe, especially between my thighs. He wants to make love to me. God, I want that too, so much. But I also love the idea of spending the day with him, as a couple, enjoying all the stuff we couldn't do before. This day is heaven.

Suddenly, I'm glad I researched how to give a blow job. Yeah, okay, that's weird and slightly deranged. But I wanted to make sure I'd know what to do if Iain and I ever had sex.

He insists on taking me to a lovely little café for breakfast, one we had never visited before. The place just opened up a few weeks ago, but I'd heard the French ambiance and cuisine are exquisite. The word of mouth didn't lie. Iain and I share a meal—literally, as in sharing one plate and feeding each other. I've never loved eating more than I do today, especially when Iain slides a French toast roll-up into my mouth.

But even the most delicious delicacy of all can't compare to the taste of Iain's kisses.

After breakfast, he whisks me away to a shopping mall where he insists on buying me whatever I want. I tell him I don't need anything, only him. He hits me with the steamiest smile I've ever seen, then rushes me into a photo booth. Never in my life had I stepped into one of these contraptions. I never saw the appeal of hunching inside a booth to take cheesy pictures of yourself. But today, I get it. With Iain, this doesn't seem like a dumb thing to do. It feels romantic.

Once we've squeezed into the booth, he slings an arm around me to tug me into his side. As the camera snaps pictures of us, we both grin and laugh as we press our cheeks against each other. I can't believe the Unflappable Iain MacTaggart is behaving like a lovestruck teenager, or that I'm doing the same. Everything about him today makes me feel exhilarated and free and so damn happy.

Just in time for that last picture, he pulls me close and kisses me.

As we peel our lips apart, he gives me a different kind of smile. The sweet kind, imbued with tenderness and something much deeper. Even if he never says the words, in this moment, I know he loves me as much as I love him.

Iain grabs the photo strip, handing it to me. "You should keep this, love. I don't need mementos to remember this day forever."

We stroll along the streets of Nackington, stopping in to explore all the cute little shops. Though we don't buy anything, shopping with Iain is even more fun than I remember from that day when I'd given him a silly T-shirt. Oh yeah, real men definitely wear plaid skirts. I would've loved it if he'd worn his kilt today, but that would've caused a distraction for every person we passed on the street.
