“Welcome to Spring Valley Prep, Sakura.” I greet her warmly.

“You know what, I might like it here. At least helping you take down East High might be fun,” Sakura laughs.

“I am no do-gooder, but it IS fun fighting an evil empire. Especially if you win,” I add.

“This will be exactly like playing Resistance Rebels, am I right?” She asks me.

“I guess…” I answer her, completely unsure. Nishan and Wes walk up to me suddenly. “Did you look at the records Sakura sent you? Did you figure out that for which you were searching?”

“I did, and the corruption is even worse than I had originally thought,” Wes comments.

“How so?” I question with concern.

“I will go over it all with the team. There is just one last thing we are going to need, which are supplies, if we are going to break into East High invisible-like. Nishan?” Wes summons.

“Just the standard, totally routine things: Walkie-talkies, maps and marks, infrared goggles, grappling hooks, tiny robot spiders with laser beam eyes?” Nishan lists off.

“Do you think that sounds a bit excessive and unnecessarily creepy.” I counter them.

“Look, do you want this to work or not?” Nishan asks.

“Wes, I just need to inform you about something.”

“I’m all ears, Hazel,” he tells me.

“I gave permission for Lexi and Payton to attend fashion week in Paris.”

“That’s fine, do you have anyone to replace them with?” he asks, hands on hips.

“It shouldn’t be that hard-to-find replacements.”

“You find the replacements, and once you’re done, meet me at the nerd hangout,” Wes instructs.

“Just so you know, you won’t be able to get in without your student card,” I reply, reminding him.

“That’s why I got this.” Wes holds up the spare master-key that I stole from my father’s office.

“You’re good.” I smirk at him.

“Master pick pocketer,” Wes gloated, swinging the key around on his finger.

My father still has no clue I have the key.

(Meanwhile, at the nerd hangout…)

“I had a look at the data that was donated to us by Sakura. Looking at it, it is even worse than we thought. This tracks the donations from the wealthiest families at East, who are donating substantial amounts of money just so their child can get straight A’s,” Wes explains with shock on his face.

I get back to the nerd hangout, where Wes greets me at the door. “Welcome, Hazel. These are the new members for the Heist?” Wes asks.

“Whoa, let us backtrack for a moment. Who said anything about a heist?” I exclaim.

“I did. Just now.” Wes answers stoically, handing me back the master-key.

“Of course, you did.” I roll my eyes, because of course.

“Anyway, who did you bring with you?” He asks.

“Wes, meet Pippa and Luna.” I say, introducing the girls to him.

“I have a bad feeling about this.” Luna gulps.

“Everyone does when they first meet me, sugar cube.” Wes flirts, with a wink.

Luna blushes, then giggles, wiping her hair from her face. “Who knew you were such a ladies’ man?” Luna flirts back. “What did you say your name was again?”

“It’s Wes.
