Chapter Eighteen
The sun was bright when Rebecca opened one eye. She didn’t move a muscle yet, afraid she would be stiff and sore after the number of positions and orgasms she’d succumbed to for two days and nights.
She was alone in the bed, but immediately Miles spoke into her head. “You awake finally, love?” She could hear him chuckle even.
“Mmm,” she replied, not fully committed to the idea of being actually awake.
“Love that sound you make, baby. We’re on the front porch. It’s nice out. There’s finally a breeze today,” Griffen informed her.
“Mmm,” she repeated, still not moving. Finally she stretched out to her full length and turned onto her back. Not bad. She might live.
Both men chuckled again into her head.
“Sore, baby?” Griffen asked.
“Mmm.” Truth was she felt perfect—sated, stiff, but the good kind of sore.
“Come outside. There’s coffee,” Miles communicated. “However, as much as I love seeing your naked ass and gorgeous tits, put something on. We have eyes out here. I’m not into sharing.”
Reality weaseled its way back into her mind. Right. There were men patrolling, watching the house. Not just men. Shifters.
Rebecca hauled herself off the bed, a sly grin spreading across her face as she tugged the sheet with her, wrapped it around her body, and padded to the front of the house.
She noticed there was a board over the broken window now. When had that happened? She had been sound asleep through nailing?
She stepped onto the porch, and both men sucked in a breath.
Miles snagged her first, tugging her into his lap. His lips were on hers so fast, she didn’t have time to think. When he released her mouth, his gaze was hungry. “That is not clothes, love.”
She grinned. “Nope.” She glanced around. “I was promised coffee.”
Griffen sat in the chair on the other side, and he wrapped a hand around her neck and forced her to lean back so he too could kiss her in an upside down lopsided maneuver. “Now you can have coffee.” He handed her a cup as Miles pulled her upright in his lap.
The first scent made her toes curl. She needed the caffeine, and she needed it now. Plus, they’d already added cream and sugar, just the way she liked it.
Thank God it wasn’t too hot. She would have risked burning herself to guzzle the first few sips.
“Now what?” she asked when she could finally be coherent.
“Now we go for that run you missed out on yesterday,” Griffen said.
“We?” She twisted to raise an eyebrow at him.
“Yep.” He smirked.
“Think you can keep up, tough guy?”
He leaned his head back and laughed. He was gorgeous when he let go like that.
She had to glance away to keep from getting horny. No way could she spend another entire day in bed.
Not that it wasn’t pleasant.
Miles squeezed her middle and whispered into the air. “Gotta learn to block your thoughts soon, love, or you’ll be spending all day and all night on your back.”
She sucked in a breath, squirmed her way off his lap, and padded back into the house.
