**Chapter Ten**

Billy

After listening to Vanessa explain everything, and listening to Christian and Zander talk in the kitchen, I knew what I needed to do. What I wanted to do. This was perfect. I could pay Zander back for everything I owed him, and I could finally get the closure I need with Christian. It was perfect the way Vanessa explained it to me, Cash, and Lenox.

At midnight, Vanessa would use her black magic to open the portal that is a once in a life time thing, and it just happens to fall this year. The universe is aligned perfectly, the moon is full, the supernatural world is celebrating, and with all that, I guess it makes the perfect time. Not to mention the most important part, Zander has finally found Christian again. Everyone’s timing is different, this just happens to be Zander’s. When I asked how I come into play, she was very clear. They needed a source to make it work, someone close to both of them. That was all I really needed to hear.

“Did you hear me?” I ask. They were both just standing there staring at me.

“Were you listening to us?” Zander asks.

“I’m not going to lie, yes I was, and I know I can help.”

“Christian and I already discussed it, and we’ve decided to leave well enough alone.”

“No way, no fucking way. You have this one chance. Are you really just going to let it blow over like nothing? You’re a bigger idiot than I thought.”

“You better watch the way you’re talking to me, Billy,” Zander growls as he comes so close to my face.

“Maybe you’re just chicken.” I know I was pushing it here, but Zander’s the type of guy whose true feelings come out when he’s angry. And angry he got. He flares his fangs, and I do the same. He grabs the collar of my shirt lifting me off the ground.

“Zander,” Christian was shocked. “Put him down.”

“I think Billy has ulterior motives for this. Don’t you Billy?” he says, releasing me.

“Screw you, Zander. I was trying to be nice, shocker I know. Take it as you will, I offered to help, just remember that.” I go to walk out, but Zander stops me.

“Thank you for offering, but your services are not needed here.”

“Because you’re too stubborn to take the help.”

“You’d be blind Billy. Did Vanessa tell you that? Did she explain that magic would transfer the blindness to you?”

“That’s not how it works. You would see through me. I would see through you. Almost as if we are switching our senses for the night. I’d be blind, I know, but I’m still willing to do it.”

“Why?”

“To understand you, to get to know you better, to feel what you feel for one night.” I glance toward Christian. “Everything.”

“I’m lost. What do you mean you would feel what he’s feeling?” Christian questions me.

“At midnight our senses would transfer. I’d take his, he’d take mine. He’d be able to see you, and I’d be able to feel everything he was feeling through my eyes.
