CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
Erik
Matthew is asleep with drool slipping from the side of his mouth, the darkness of his stubble coming in like a shadow. Heâs adorable.
And Iâm in trouble.
I stand by the window, gazing out at the newly cloudless sky. At some point, the storm has blown through, and all thatâs left is piles of white snow. It looks like more than enough for a white Christmas, and I wonder if that will delight Matthew. Heâd seemed thrilled by the tree and stockings. Does he decorate his home for the holidays? Does he celebrate with friends? Or does he spend Christmases alone with no fanfare?
I have the sinking suspicion itâs the latter. The thought of sending him packing on Christmas Eve to a cold, empty house creates a hollow ache in my chest. With my mom away, Iâd have been fine to spend the holiday with my animals catching up on some downtime.
Now, I imagine watching Matthew drive away, his red taillights disappearing around the bend. I imagine spending Christmas alone like Iâd planned, and instead of peace, quiet, and rejuvenation, that hollow ache grows deeper.
The moon is low in the sky, and its light bounces blue and serene around the mountains and into my bedroom. Itâs in that pale light that I watch him sleep.
I know this feeling.
Iâve had it before. The first times with all three of my prior boys were special in their own ways, but none could hold a candle to the intensity of what Matthew and I have shared in the last few hours.
The funny feeling in my stomach? The fond warmth in my heart? The urgent protectiveness and desire to keep him safe and mine? These are all familiar from my past experiences with the boys I made a full-time Daddy commitment to.
But Matthew didnât sign up for that. He wanted one night with me. Thatâs what he bid on, so thatâs what heâs getting.
And even if he does want more, I donât do long distance. It never works. Not that Iâve tried it, but Iâm a man who needs his boy closeâto kneel at his feet, to suck his cock, to touch, and love, and protect.
I canât protect Matthew if heâs in Nashville and Iâm here. I canât make sure heâs fed, warm, safe, and getting suitably fucked. It would drive me crazy to try to be his Daddy from a distance.
I know some people are exclusively virtual with their submissives or boys, but thatâs never appealed to me. When Duncan asked me to do a video call with him after he left for grad school, I did it once because I cared about him and knew he needed the support, but there was nothing erotic or satisfying for me in seeing Duncan jerking off through a screen.
Just pixels. No flesh, no cum, no spit. I love all that. I love the warmth of a boyâs body against mineâand itâs a surprise to find out a boy with so much fur is nice to cuddle, especially in the winter.
