Chapter Ten
Dane wasnât used to sleeping in even on the weekends, but with Chris there, and after the night theyâd had, he supposed it was okay to wake up after ten in the morning.
He got a little time to watch Chris sleep, to admire the elegant line of his spine and the dip above his buttocks. The blankets had slid down to expose the top of Chrisâ ass crack, and Dane had an almost impossible to resist desire to start licking that tempting crevice.
And he might have given in to it had Chrisâ phone not started ringing. The sound of it was coming from the other roomâlikely by the front door since thatâs where Dane had stripped Chrisâ pants off.
Chris startled, coming awake with a gasp as he shoved himself up. The blankets and sheet fell away, baring his rounded ass and strong thighs. âPhone,â Chris squeaked, his voice rough and high.
âIâll get it.â Dane was up and darting out of the room, uncaring that he was naked and some parts of him were bouncing a bit as he moved. He found Chrisâ phone in the pocket of his sweats, but whoever was calling had either hung up or the call had gone to voice mail. Dane was almost back to the bedroom when it rang again, and the caller ID showed Al on the screen.
âI think itâs your brother,â he said as he held up the phone. Dane hurried to hand it over to Chris.
Chris groaned. âShit. I forgot I was supposed to fix breakfast for him and Gregg.â He tapped the screen and answered. âHey, Al, I was justââ
Dane could hear Albertâs voice, his words rushing out so fast Dane wouldnât understand them.
He shouldnât eavesdrop. Dane walked into his bathroom and took care of his bladder, which had started to ache as soon as he stepped into the room. He brushed his teeth and considered shaving. He had a dark shadow of stubble already. Dane rubbed his chin and decided heâd shower and skip shaving for now. He got the shower going and was about to step in when there was a knock at the door. âCome in,â he called out, knowing it had to be Chris.
Chris entered and a blush stained his cheeks. âThat was Al, like I said. He, er, I couldnât lie to him. I told him I was with someone after the break-in. Once he stopped yelling at me for not calling him when that happened, he began asking me who I was with. I didnât tell him.â
Dane frowned. âWhy not?â
Chris looked surprised at the question. âB-because I didnât know if youâd be okay with that?â
Oh. For a second, heâd been afraid that Chris was ashamed of him, though he had no idea why that would be.
âWe havenât discussed anything aboutâ¦about telling other people,â Chris said. âAnd for all I know, you might be done with me afterâeek!â
Chrisâ squeak was cute, but the manâs worry about being used was not. Dane had him in his arms in no time at all.
