George Harrison was born the youngest of four children, in Liverpool, on the 25th of February 1943. His father was a bus conductor, and his mother, of Irish heritage, was a shop assistant.

George always had a love for music. It mesmerised him, intrigued him, and he could not get enough of it. His mother recognised when George was a young age that music brought incredible joy to the child. She herself also loved music, particularly Indian music, with tabla and sitars.

In his early teens, while riding his bicycle one day, George heard Elvis Presley coming from somebody’s house. His interest in rock n’ roll began. He totally loved the sound of guitars.

He would soon begin to play the guitar himself. Still a teenager, his father bought him an acoustic guitar in 1956. George founded a band called ‘The Rebels.’
