This chapter is like a note to my Twenty year old self and to all the young beautiful, talented, faith walking ladies and sisters of the God Kind in their twenties or single season. My prayer each time I see a young single woman is for her to be sensitive to God’s leading, to let God direct them to their ordained spouses and to settle her longing desire for a glorious marital destiny. God’s desire is for married couple to be stronger and better together, and to accomplish double than when they were single. Deut. 32: 30.(KJV) Explains; How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock has sold them, and the Lord had shut them up?. Prov. 18:22 (NLT) “He who finds a wife finds a treasure, and receives favor from the Lord. Yes sis!, you are worthy and a bearer of good things. The life partner you choose to settle with affects everything in your life, from your physical, emotional and mental health. It also influences your successes and failures; more importantly, the offspring you will produce and how they will be raised, so choose wisely by all means.

It was May 2004 when I landed at the Newark Internal Airport, coming to the United States for the first ever time in my life! fresh out of the university and super excited. I felt lucky, blessed, favored and all that. In my early twenties and loaded with potentials and zeal to conquer the world. A few weeks and months passed; I finally obtained the necessary documents needed to start school and work. I was set to study law or some social sciences that will give me a good background to serve humanity in a fulfilling way, but ended up studying in the popular nursing field.

I arrived the United States in May and before that year ran out, I had gotten multiple calls from friends and family member welcoming me, and at the end of each phone call I was reminded how important it was for me to find a man and settle down quickly. I was told of how scarce husband are. I was made to understand that it was almost impossible to find a dream husband, so most people had to settle in mediocre relationships because that was the mentality. Dear girl. Do not drop your standards to settle for less. You might drop your high expectations, but by all means do not drop your standards. Growing up in a polygamous family, passing through several homes of different family members, some with horrible marriages, some with average marriages some in abusive and toxic relationships. So I thought this is how it should be. I was made to understand that marriage is hard work, I was taught that you have to endure before you enjoy marriage. I was told all sorts of lies from the pit of hell about marriage. I had never attended a marriage seminar; I hadn’t read any books on marriage and I was surrounded by bad and enduring relationships and marriages.
