The buzzing in my head wouldn’t stop as the blood thumped in my ears. I did the stupid breathing exercises the doctor had said to do when this happened, but it wasn’t working. I needed some action, and I knew just what to do.

Dragging the goodie bag from under my bed I looked through everything one more time. Last time I had been too hasty. That stupid bitch could never get anything right. I don’t know why I’d listened to her in the first place. Now there were cops crawling all over the place and I’m afraid it’s only a matter of time before they look my way.

If only she’d died, then there wouldn’t be anyone alive who knew of my involvement. Sian couldn’t remember shit so I wasn’t worried on that front, but I still had a score to settle. That bitch thought she could use me and then toss me aside like I was nothing. I knew when she called that she was only using me, but there was something in it for me so I really didn’t give a damn. Now she was acting like she didn’t want anything to do with me, but she didn’t know who she was dealing with. Tomorrow I’ll show them all.

The thought was enough to calm me down some and I laid back across the bed. Anger burned bright in my chest as I tapped my fingers against it, but I knew now that it would get me nowhere. Like the therapist said, it was best to let the anger simmer; hold it just beneath the surface, before making a move. Only that dumb bitch and I differed on what those moves should be. After tomorrow they’ll be sorry they ever fucked with me in this town.
