Erica

“Colt, Christmas is in four days, and I still don’t have a tree!” I tell him while undressing from work.

“Let's go get a tree then.” He calls from the closet, where he just locked up our service weapons.

“That’s not what I mean.” I’m sitting on the bed in nothing but my granny panties and my bra. I look up as my shirtless man walks in and stands in front of me. I can’t help but stare at his beautiful body. I shake my head, knowing I need to make it through this conversation without him distracting me.

“I haven’t been home since the other night. Some things need my attention there. I can’t keep staying at your place every night.”

He walks between my spread thighs and rakes his fingers through my hair, pulling lightly, so I’m looking up at him. “What do you need to do at the townhouse that you can’t do here?”

I sigh, he’s not getting it. “I need a tree. I need to decorate my house. I need to go home.”

“You are home. You said it yourself this afternoon.” He smiles at me. Every time he pulls out that damn smile I can’t remember what I’m talking about. He’s like a female version of a siren, pulling me in with a sexy body and gorgeous smiles. I’m so screwed.

“What? No, I didn’t. I’d think I would remember if I called your house ours.”

“Oh, you did baby girl. You said, and I quote, ‘See you at home, Daddy.’ And you know what baby?”

Can I die from embarrassment? “Hmm?”

He kneels between my legs on both knees, at this level we’re about the same height. He’s rubbing his hands up and down my thighs, eyes locked with mine, giving me all his attention.

“That’s exactly what this house is. It’s our home. It’s the place we are going to fight and make up in. This is the bed I’ll love you in each and every night. The house we’ll raise our babies in. The kitchen where we’ll have millions of family dinners. This house, Erica. This house is the foundation we’ll build our life together upon. And if not this one, we’ll choose another, because at the end of the day the only thing that fucking matters is that you and I are together. You understand me baby girl?”

I nod. He’s right, and he knows he’s right. He’s the man I never thought I’d find. My king that shines in the darkness leading me to safety and love. He’s my light that I’m never going to let go of.

“I love you, Colten.”

He’s on me before I get the end of his name off my lips. Laying kiss over kiss against my mouth.

“Those are the sweetest words I’ve ever heard Erica. You don’t know how happy you just made me. Scoot up baby.”

I crawl backward until I’m lying on the pillows. I watch as he undresses the rest of the way. I’ll never get tired of looking at my man, my Daddy. He’s the sexiest man I have ever seen with a tall, lean body he’s a quiet storm of destruction.
