Crash: You feel that you’ve been in that position?

Brown: Sure.

Crash: How so? You’re a white Anglo-Saxon male in a society that treasures white Anglo-Saxon males. How in the world could you consider yourself an underdog?

Brown: Certainly in my adolescent years I felt very much like I was in an underdog position, an outsider position in relation to the other white males of my age group. So I suppose I can identify in that way, which is trivial in comparison to the kinds of things that some people in our society have to undergo.
