The black pen

There are no rules when it comes to the type of pen to be used so long as the color is black. Whether it is a ball point pen, a fountain pen, a charcoal pencil, or a fine point black marker - it can be used. When heading to the pen section of the office supply store, you might be overwhelmed to learn that there are actually various types of drawing pen with different point numbers according to how thin or thick the pen output is. Do not be too overwhelmed and simply choose one that feels comfortable when you hold it, slides smoothly across your chosen paper and doesn’t bleed after a few minutes of application. You can also use a combination of pens if you want variety in your pattern designs. You can use thin and thick point pens to create various pattern designs.

Matching your paper and pen

Be aware that there are pens and papers that do not match. Some white paper may be semi-glossy and may not soak up a pen that releases too much ink. There are also some paper types in which drawing pens may bleed. Test out your materials together before purchasing or before heading to your Zendoodle lectures to avoid any hassles.
