Thus there is a dual reason why Service Dogs are allowed to go everywhere with their Partners.

The point of having a Service Dog is to lessen the impact of the limitations that a disability causes to your life and activities. A Service Dog stays with you 24/7 so that life can continue on smoothly with no interruptions to your normal way of living your life. Your disability does not go away just because you go into a store to buy your groceries, and neither should your Service Dog.

A Service Dog can’t do his job if he’s separated from his person, and not only that, but separation will compromise his ability to Work, even after he is fully trained. A Service Dog’s life is dedicated to and centered around taking care of his Partner, and in order to Work, he has to develop and maintain a close connection with his Partner and keep his awareness on his Partner at all times. Separation weakens the bond and consequently the dog’s ability to Focus on his Partner.
