Chapter Ten

I was going to have tonight off work, but I thought seeing as though I’ve hidden away for the past couple of days to hide my red puffy eyes, I thought I had better show my face. No more hiding for me. Coming here, I assumed that everyone within the club knew what had happened because men love to gossip as much as women, however I was surprised when I got talking to some of the men that they didn’t know exactly what went down. I think people knew I wasn’t with Liam and that he had done me wrong, but nobody knew the facts. But they do now because I’ve just told all the men around the bar what happened and Scrappy was right there to fill in the gaps. Now I’m sure all the juicy details will be spread by morning. It is embarrassing because everyone seems to know Baby doesn’t want me and now I’m once again single because the guy I was seeing can’t stay loyal to me.

The men all seemed satisfied that justice had been served. So at least there’s that. I haven’t even asked Baby what happened with Liam after I left and I’m a little worried to, if I’m honest. He did tell me that he’s not dead, so I know I’m not connected to a murder.

Baby has been hovering around the bar during my shift and he doesn’t seem to be moving any time soon. He’s been watching me and avoiding all the bunnies. It has been a nice change to hold all of his attention and to not have him disappear as soon as a whore came along. It does feel a little weird, but it’s a good feeling and I can’t complain. Even others have noticed his change in behaviour. Ryder has joined us at the bar and keeps smirking as he watches Baby lavish me with attention.

“So you went there in just your underwear?” Asks Neo as we work together.

“And a long jacket.” I nod. “I was going to surprise him.”

“Stupid fucker.” Neo shakes his head. “Why would anyone cheat on you? You’re hot!”

I laugh at Neo but as I cast a look over to Baby, he’s scowling at my friend so I walk on over to him. “What’s the matter?”

“He likes you.” Baby almost growls, still frowning at Neo.

“Neo?” I giggle. “Don’t be daft, he’s a friend.”

Baby finally looks to me. “A friend that wants to fuck you.”

“Well, that’s unlucky for him then.” I smile. “Because he’s not my type.”

Baby’s face loses its grumpy scowl. “I’m your type.”

“Oh Mr Confident.” I laugh, leaning on the bar opposite him so now our faces are closer.

“I have a chance.” Baby adds smugly.

“Do you?” I can’t stop giggling. “Because I think you need to work a little harder.”

“Just a little?” Baby thinks. “I can do that.”

I take a quick look around and notice there’s a lot of eyes on us. “People are watching.”

Baby laughs, not a care in the world that we seem to be entertainment for everyone tonight.
