Seeds to Water
In your journal, describe a time you felt overcome with insecurity and the circumstances that led to this. How much of this mood came from others and how much did you contribute to your own diminishment? What did you do to move through the insecure feeling? How long did it take to pass?
When in a social situation, with friends or colleagues, allow yourself to feel the moods and energies of those around you. Who is nervous? Who is sad? Who is positioning themselves above everyone else? Feel these moods wash near you and over you. Then, while in the middle of the gathering, take a deep breath and feel the ground you are standing on, feel your own presence and mood. Take another breath and remember that all these moods and energies are not you. Take a third breath and feel your own presence, as if you are alone. Then look to the company around you, meeting their presence with your own. Practice grounding your own worth in the company of others two times in the coming week.
