“I have a surprise for you,” I said, taking a sip of my pineapple, strawberry smoothie. Liv had gotten me addicted to them.

We both needed to refuel after this morning’s activities. After last night, despite it being exactly what I needed, I had to make up for not doing the insinuated “anything” that Liv originally wanted.

There hadn’t been a night where we shared a bed and hadn’t had sex before falling asleep. Last night in the lake, watching her look up at the night sky, her warm body wrapped around mine, things changed. I wanted more than just a great sexual relationship with Liv.

Don’t get me wrong, the sex between us was incredible, and we had a genuine connection, but I craved more of that connection. I needed her to know this wasn’t just about sex.

I wasn’t ready to tell her just how much I was falling for her yet, but once we got everything out in the open, I would. We were both still keeping a secret from the other despite our no secrets rule. We’d need to face that sooner rather than later.

I wouldn’t be able to hold back much longer. She was even more perfect than I’d dreamed she’d be. I looked forward to waking up and seeing her every day. She was it for me. I knew from the second she called, and I got in my car to drive to her place last month.

“You know I’m not a fan of surprises,” she warned.

“Yes, but I’m going to tell you about it now, so you can pack accordingly,” I informed her.

Liv claimed to hate surprises, but every time I’d surprised her, she always enjoyed it. She just didn’t like bad surprises.

“I’m packing for something?” Her eyes widened, a smile pulling at her lips.

“You absolutely are. Kayden will be back this week and I’ll be taking Friday off. You and I are going to spend the weekend at a cabin I rented in Crystal Creek. It’s secluded, has a hot tub, and incredible views of the mountains and forest. I had to tell you in advance since you’ll need a variety of clothing,” I explained.

I booked this after the first night we slept together. It was supposed to be the start of how I wanted to treat her after our teenaged escapades were over. It didn’t matter that we already put an end to it last night. A weekend getaway together was exactly what we needed.

“What exactly do I need to pack? If it’s secluded, I’d think you’d want me naked the entire weekend,” she teased.

Fuck yes, I did.

“As much as I want that, and believe me, I do, I have plans for us that unfortunately require you to be somewhat covered. I don’t want to have to bring you to the hospital,” that wouldn’t put a damper on the weekend at all.

“I’d rather not go to the hospital either, so I guess I’ll be bringing clothes. What do I need to bring?” She pulled out her phone, opening the notes app.
