There is no “correct way” to move through these stages. Youmay moveforward andthen feel a setback. This can happen a lot throughout your journey.

Here is a diagram showing an example of a journey through grief. There are many ups and downs on the graph because you will experience many changes on your journey. You may feel good one day, a high point on the graph, and the next day you could feel like it all crashed down.

Keep on going. Persist forward on your journey no matter how difficult it may seem at times; that is perseverance. If you look at the graph as a whole you will notice it is an overall uphill line—and if you persevere, your journey will look like that, too.

Draw a graph of your own progression. You may want to do this activity occasionally so you can see your own development. Talk to someone about your graph or write about it in your journal.
