RELATIONSHIP GRAPH INSTRUCTIONS

Now that you’ve seen Russell’s and Cole’s Relationship Graphs, you have a good idea of how to do yours. As we move to the next action choice, we need to stop and help you consider which relationship you are going to graph. Most of you may choose to work on your relationship with your pet that died recently. Yet, because of the Pet Loss History you wrote, you may be aware that you have more than one incomplete relationship with pets that have died. If you feel compelled to go back and work on a pet that died some time ago, that’s okay. After you have completed that one, you can work on the more current one and any others. In this exercise, you will only work on one relationship so you don’t get them jumbled together. Once you’ve made your choice, you’re ready to get to work.

Whether you’re working on a very recent death or one from some time ago, it’s most likely that the end of the physical part of your relationship with your pet is what brought you to this book. Up until now, you may have been focused on that ending. That makes sense because it’s the last chapter of that relationship that is stored in your memory. However, you’ve probably also had flashes of memories of many other things that happened over the entire course of the relationship.
