while they skied on the slopes.

Tomato soup. I cried, pouted,

& refused to eat. Sort of scolded

when they got back, red-faced

& cheerful.

He threw rocks & cans at the

window, but we didn’t awake.

In the same bed? Angry.

Early morning. He had eaten

rattlesnake on flight pattern

to other base.

A long way from home, long way

from sight, along the border, tempting

huge reptiles to emerge from slumber,

embattled, we were thrown on the

distance of a long shore. Disparity

reigned. I tell you, no mercury number

could save us now. In the 1st place,

all provisions were wasted
