Boo Boo Antimicrobial Ointment

The herbs in this antimicrobial ointment are styptic, helping to stop bleeding and minimize bruising. They promote rapid healing of minor cuts and scrapes and minimize infection. Since this has no chemical antibiotics, its use doesn’t increase antibiotic resistance. For more serious injuries, consult your medical professional.

YIELD: 1 (4-ounce) jar

INGREDIENTS

1 tablespoon comfrey-infused oil

2 tablespoons calendula-infused oil

1 tablespoon plantain-infused oil

2 tablespoons yarrow-infused oil

2 tablespoons shea butter

2 tablespoons beeswax

¼ teaspoon vitamin E oil

10 drops tea tree essential oil

10 drops lavender essential oil

10 drops peppermint essential oil

DIRECTIONS

1.Make a double boiler using a glass measuring cup. Simmer the infused oils, shea butter, and beeswax in the glass measuring cup over low heat to melt the shea butter and beeswax. Remove from the heat. Stir the mixture while it cools to prevent the beeswax from clumping.

2.When the mixture is just warm to the touch, stir in the vitamin E and essential oils. Pour this mixture into a 4-ounce jar or a tin with a tight-fitting lid. Label and date. This will last for a year at room temperature.

TO USE

Wash the wound with soap and water. Dry well. Apply this ointment in a thin layer. Cover to keep the area clean and dry. Use this for minor cuts, scrapes, or bruises. For serious wounds, please consult your medical professional.
