They will be successful if they remember to push hard with their back leg and finish with it straight and locked, lift the toes of their front foot first then kick out straight with their foot, keep their front knee over their shoe laces, and land softly on their heel then roll to flat on the floor with their front foot. As a follow up to their lunge, have them recover backward to their “on guard” position. To do this they push back off their front foot, and place it back to the “on guard” position on the floor location.
