Seth sat back with his drink and tried to follow the conversation between Dixie and Kevin but there was too much of their history steering the current topic for him to understand what they were on about. He sighed with relief when Ming walked in through the front door, but he was soon on his feet when it looked like Ming was going to break down in tears.

He raced up the stairs as Ming headed for their bedroom and just managed to get his foot in the door before Ming would've slammed and locked it.

"Ming. What's wrong now?"

"My life sucks." Ming released his hold on the door and let Seth into the bedroom. "And Shaun is a self righteous asshole."

"I'm starting to think this holiday with your so called friends wasn't such a good idea." Seth dropped down into a chair and crossed his legs. "So far, I've had to throw one guy out because he's essentially a violent sex offender. Another one, the self righteous asshole, was institutionalized because he was raped in high school but for some reason he's in love with and married to the person who deliberately led him to said rapist… never mind that said husband, according to detective numb nuts down there, is a raving lunatic and they make a living by prostituting themselves?" He stopped and took a deep breath. "The football player is a complete testosterone fuelled hothead and his boyfriend—" Seth held up his hands as Ming made to interject. "I'm sorry, Ming. I know you were in love with him, but that guy Attila is seriously dangerous. He's got Eric wrapped so tightly around his little finger that he could get Eric to do anything he wanted."

Ming groaned and leaned his head against the window.

"What now?" Seth asked with exasperation.

Ming banged his head on the glass a few times. "Did I ever tell you I had a serious crush on a football player?"

"Ming… no." Seth dropped his face into his hand. "Is that why you wanted to go out to the trailer? So you could talk to Eric?"

"I thought it would be good to clear the air." Ming sighed. "Let all my past obsessions go, so as to start anew."

"And? What did he say?"

"I didn't get a chance to talk to Eric. He was too busy making out with Attila while Curtis fucked him up the ass and Shaun waited to jump in… because apparently, that's what Shaun's good at."

Seth stared at Ming in silence.

"Say something." Ming turned back towards the window.

"I'm at a complete loss." Seth paused, his mind reeling with the absurdity of recent events. "Other than the fact that, aside from Dixie and to some degree Kevin, your friends are fucking insane." He scrubbed his face anxiously with his hands. "I'm losing faith in humanity. Who isn't here yet?"

"Candace. She had a baby with Kevin back in high school."

"Good, that's not too unusual nowadays."
